Light sensitive film roll

A light sensitive film roll, is supposed to be handled with patience, just like any other thing in life demands for.

“This was my first film roll that I shot, and there was a lot I hadn’t known. By looking at this particular subject, I saw something appealing. So I grabbed my camera and I had to put it on film. And then came the waiting for couple of more exposures to finish the film and hand it for developing. Only if I knew how this picture would turn out, I’d be more in the moment while admiring the subject.”

Our mind, like the film roll, demands to be treated the way it is to be treated. For the mind to be more in its element, it wants to be aware of what it’s doing.

State of awareness, Mindfulness, is a choice for one to be in their element. Rather than it being imposed upon oneself, it’d choose to grow like a habit. To give the mind some time in the present experience, to acknowledge what we’re feeling, implementing the necessary effort and moving past it with time to another experience is to grow as a whole.

With every shot you capture, the narrative of the subject wants to be felt, to see it in the light that it possesses, and to be admired. Pause, feel, capture.

I wish we practice mindfulness more often, be patient, and grow.
